Henderson & Ronald

Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Ours began quietly, in passing.

In 2018, our paths first crossed while Ronald was serving in the United States Army in Philadelphia and Henderson was in college. We met in passing, never imagining that the person we had just crossed paths with would one day become the love of our lives.

Not long after, Ronald asked Henderson to grab coffee with him, and Henderson said yes.

That simple coffee date became the beginning of a beautiful story. At the time, however, neither of us knew that our time had not yet come. We had met, our lives had crossed, and something had begun, but God had a different timeline for us.

Life took us in different directions, giving each of us the opportunity to grow, learn, and become the people we were meant to be. Then, in 2021, our paths crossed once again.

By then, we had both grown in ways that only time and life could teach us. We had learned more about ourselves, what we wanted, and what we were ready to give. When we found our way back to each other, we were ready for something intentional. Something lasting. Something real.

Looking back, we can now see the hand of God in every detail. In every place we went, every season we experienced, every path we took, and every moment that brought us closer to one another, even when we did not yet know where life was leading us. What may have felt like coincidence was always part of a greater plan.

We did not find each other too early or too late. We found each other exactly when God knew we were ready.

Together, we began building a life that would take us far beyond where our story began. We moved across the country to Texas to start a life together while Henderson continued serving in the military. We learned what it meant to build a home and a future far from everything familiar, relying on one another through every new beginning and every unknown.

Eventually, life brought us back to Philadelphia, where we continued to grow, not only as a couple, but as partners in life. We bought a home together, created a place of our own, and began building the future we had once only imagined. Along the way, we even began building a small business together, learning to dream, create, and take risks side by side.

Our journey has not always been easy. There have been challenges, difficult seasons, doubts, and moments that tested us in ways only those closest to us truly know. But through every uncertainty, we continued to choose one another. We supported each other through the highs and lows, celebrated every milestone, and stood beside each other through every chapter.

What makes our story so meaningful is not that everything has always been perfect. It is that, through everything, we have continued to grow together. We have witnessed each other change, overcome obstacles, pursue dreams, and become the people we were always meant to be.

From meeting in passing in 2018, to sharing our first coffee, to finding our way back to each other in 2021, to moving across the country, building a life in Texas, returning home to Philadelphia, purchasing our first home, creating a business, and navigating every challenge and doubt along the way, we have already lived so many chapters together.

And now, after every road that brought us here, we finally have the privilege of saying “I do” in front of the people we love and care about most.

We look back with gratitude for every twist and turn, every delay, every challenge, and every moment that led us to this day. We believe that God was writing our story long before we understood it. We may have met in 2018, but we found each other when the time was right.

Now, surrounded by the people who have loved us, supported us, and witnessed our journey, we begin the greatest chapter of our lives.

Not simply as two people who found love, but as two lives that God intentionally brought together.

This is our story, a story of timing, growth, faith, perseverance, resilience, and a love that was worth waiting for.

And this is only the beginning.
